Flashback Friday to Sikkim, Himalayas with Andi on Adventure
This week we have something new for Flashback Friday, a flashback from a fellow travel blogger. Andi is originally from Minnesota and is currently living in Hsinchu, Taiwan. She has been there almost 3 years and is teaching English to adults, traveling, and writing her blog, Andi on Adventure.
We're featuring Andi's Throwback Thursday - Tea Time in Sikkim. Sikkim is a small state in the Himalayas, northwest India. It is bordered by Bhutan, Tibet, and Nepal. India's highest mountain, the 8,586m Kanchenjunga, is in Sikkum. This picturesque area includes alpine meadows with many varieties of wildflowers, glaciers, Buddhist monasteries.
Andi visited this incredible place in November, 2000.

"After a week of action-packed white water rafting on the remote Tamur River in eastern Nepal, our group of intrepid adventurers dwindled down to just three – me, my friend Patty, and her husband Jack. For us, two weeks in Nepal trekking and white water rafting weren’t quite enough. Since we were in the neighborhood, Sikkim was on our list too. This remote area of the Himalayas is a special part of India that few travelers get to see."
