Flashback Friday - Bondi Beach, Sydney Australia

smallbondisurfer
We visited Australia in October, 1995. Our fall, their spring. Our first stop was Sydney where we spent five days, which only gave us a taste of this wonderful city. One day we took the bus to Bondi Beach, a gorgeous spot less than an hour away. It was pretty cold there. We went around 4:30 and had a late lunch/early dinner. There were a few surfers and brave souls with bathing suits.

Flashback Friday - Monterey Peninsula

smallmargaretcypress
The Monterey Peninsula, California. In July of 1990, Margaret and I took the 17-mile drive around the Monterey Peninsula along the coast of California. What a beautiful part of the country. The scenery was spectacular! The fee was $6 per car and came with a map of the main attractions. There are about 27 stops on the map.

Flashback Friday - Haleakala Crater in Hawaii

smallhaleakala
Brrrrrr! Well, it's finally winter in the Northeast after a very mild fall and early winter. In fact, we're supposed to get a major snowstorm tonight. I thought it would be fun to do a blog about a warm place…like Hawaii. Except it's a little ironic, I decided to focus on our adventure at Haleakala which, when we made it to the top, was extremely cold. We were freezing our butts off!! LOL

Flashback Friday - Denali Wilderness Safari Alaska

smallarjetboat
Back in June of 1991, I had the privilege of traveling to Alaska with my Aunt Rosella, my Dad's sister. By then, my Aunt had been all around the world from Europe to Australia and everything in between including an around-the-world trip in 1964, the year I was born! I guess my love of travel came from her and always seeing all of her wonderful photos and souvenirs whenever she returned from another faraway place.
