smallstrasburgrailroad
Today's Flashback Friday is not that far back, but I thought it would be fun to do. This past August (2015) we took a last-minute weekend trip to Strasburg, PA. We had a great time.

Flashback Friday - Haleakala Crater in Hawaii

smallhaleakala
Brrrrrr! Well, it's finally winter in the Northeast after a very mild fall and early winter. In fact, we're supposed to get a major snowstorm tonight. I thought it would be fun to do a blog about a warm place…like Hawaii. Except it's a little ironic, I decided to focus on our adventure at Haleakala which, when we made it to the top, was extremely cold. We were freezing our butts off!! LOL

Facebook Group for Travel Bloggers 40 and Over

Just a little note to let you know I started a Facebook group for Travel Bloggers 40 and Over. The blogging community is a great group, but sometimes those of us over 40 don't feel we fit in. So many great bloggers are young, single, and traveling all over the world. I thought maybe we needed a niche for those of us who love traveling but maybe aren't as active and have families and limited time and budgets.

So come on over and join us for friendship and support. We can discuss our travels, travel photography, and the nuts and bolts of blogging!

By then, my Aunt had been all around the world from Europe to Australia and everything in between including an around-the-world trip in 1964, the year I was born! I guess my love of travel came from her and always seeing all of her wonderful photos and souvenirs whenever she returned from another faraway place.

smallmomdadbahamas
Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe it's 2016! Where has the time gone?

It's a great day to start off a new feature of my blog - Flashback Friday! I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of past travel days, from my Mom and Dad, my Aunt Rosella who traveled the world, friends, family, and my own personal photos. It's a way to honor the past and to find out what the world of travel is like now.

First up is The Bahamas!
